Keep sensitive footage in a dedicated review workflow. When Vault is enabled, ordinary recipient web playback and master downloads are blocked; authorized review moves to the macOS app. Test this path on the recipient’s Mac before sensitive sharing.

Capture restrictions in the macOS app
The Vault is designed to exclude its playback window from supported software capture paths. Check the recipient’s Mac and sharing tools before sensitive review.
Visible session watermark
Viewer identification stays with the displayed picture, making casual redistribution less anonymous. It cannot prevent someone filming the screen.
Invisible forensic watermark
A per-person mark is designed to help investigate a recovered copy. Cropping, recompression and camera recordings can weaken the trace.
AES-256 encrypted local cache
The native Vault path encrypts its playback cache. Access remains tied to the authorized workflow; original-file downloads are a separate permission decision.
Short-lived media links
Vault media URLs expire after two minutes, reducing the window for reuse. Access can still be misused while a URL is valid.
Tamper-evident access record
Recorded access events help establish a timeline. They do not prove who physically watched or redistributed a file.
Vault review happens in the macOS app, which supports R3D, BRAW, N-RAW and ProRes on compatible Macs. Playback depends on the hardware and file. The full model — including what we do not claim — is on the security page, and the deployment comparison on vs NexGuard.

Which plan includes the Vault?+
Every plan includes Vault access, including Starter with 5 GB and one film. Paid plans change storage and included team seats. Studio is $219 month to month or $2,409 billed yearly, with five seats, 1 TB ready-to-play storage and 8 TB cold archive. The cold archive also holds project archives on any paid plan: every clip a timeline uses, the project file and the master, sent straight to cold from an open DaVinci Resolve timeline, a Premiere Pro sequence or a Final Cut Pro XML export, each file its own item to download or re-hydrate.
Are client viewers billed per person?+
External client reviewers do not need paid team seats. Plans include a set number of team seats; additional seats cost $15/month on paid plans. Storage add-ons cost $50/TB/month ready-to-play and $25/TB/month cold archive. There are no per-view charges.
How does this compare with enterprise security products?+

Does the Vault create another playback encode?+
The macOS app supports original-file playback for supported R3D, BRAW, N-RAW and ProRes files on compatible Macs. Hardware and file availability affect playback. Watermarks alter the displayed picture to identify a session; preserving an uploaded original is a separate promise from showing a watermarked view.
What should I check before sharing unreleased work?+
Use a short test clip to check recipient authorization, native playback, download rules and capture behavior. No software stops a camera filming a screen. Watermarks and access records support an investigation but cannot guarantee attribution. FairPlay DRM is not offered as a shipped Vault feature.
