The search phrase promises a host where uploading stops being a decision. That host does not exist. Vimeo meters storage; so do we. What separates the two is what the meter counts, what it ignores, and what happens at the end of the dial.

Vimeo’s meter
A lifetime total,
not an allowance that comes back.
The old story, that a Vimeo plan buys you a fixed number of videos, describes accounts opened before 17 June 2024. Everything since runs on one number: total storage, granted once.
Older accounts were metered by count: the legacy Starter plan was capped at 60 videos of up to 250 GB each, and legacy Plus and Pro had a weekly quota that reset every seven days. The current meter counts bytes, with one per-video rule, 300 GB and 24 hours on every plan, and the word lifetime does the work: nothing comes back on a renewal date.
When the total is spent there are two doors: delete videos, which frees storage, or move up a tier, 2 TB to 4 TB to 7 TB, and past that the listed options are Studio at 10 TB or Enterprise, through sales. When a paid plan ends, videos above the 1 GB free cap are restricted, not deleted, most recent first; stored source files survive only while the paid membership does and, in the help center’s words, may be deleted and may not be recoverable.
Bandwidth is a second meter, 2 TB a month on every self-serve tier, with its own page: a Vimeo alternative with no bandwidth cap.

Storage is the meter,
and it is the only one.
We will not write unlimited storage here, because it is not true. Every plan carries a hot storage figure, two carry a cold pool, and past the plan the figure grows in blocks. Everything else is unmetered. The Terms and the pricing page say it the same way: storage is the only meter, no bandwidth caps, unlimited views, uploads and viewers on every plan. Stored bytes. Starter: free, 1 GB hot. Lite: $9 a month or $90 a year, 100 GB. Pro: $25 or $250, 500 GB. Max: $75 or $750, 1.5 TB hot plus 1 TB cold. Vault: $250 or $2,500, 2 TB hot plus 2 TB cold, with extra seats at $175 a month or $1,750 a year, each adding 1 TB of each.
Never counted
Uploads, views and viewers, on every plan including the free one. No delivery threshold. The player streams the exact bytes you uploaded, no transcode anywhere: the file that counts against storage is the file people watch.
How it grows
Max and Vault add blocks: $40 per TB hot, $20 per TB cold, a month. Cold is for finished work: archiving frees hot space immediately, a cold master does not stream, embed or review until restored, and restores are capped at twice the cold pool per calendar month. The gap between the two meters is temperature: on Vimeo every byte sits at the tier's rate for as long as it exists.

Max holds 1.5 TB hot plus 1 TB cold; keeping the newest masters hot and the rest cold is a choice, not a rule. Blocks beyond a plan are $40 per TB hot and $20 per TB cold a month, on Max and Vault.
Read the price row without flinching. For a library that fits inside a tier, Vimeo’s storage is cheaper per terabyte: Starter holds this whole library for eight years at $12 a month billed annually, and Standard holds all ten years for $25; the same ten years here sit on Max at $75. If pure storage is the purchase and your plays never approach the 2 TB threshold, stay; this page will not talk you out of it.
The higher price buys masters that stream as uploaded rather than on a ladder that tops out at 22 Mbps for 4K H.264, the argument of uncompressed.io vs Vimeo, plays that are never counted, and a meter that keeps growing by the block where Vimeo’s ladder ends at Studio’s 10 TB and then a sales conversation. Year ten of this library has already forced a deletion on Starter, still fits Standard and Advanced, and sits on Max here at $75 with the oldest 45 masters cold.

Stay: a team that needs seats and showcases
Standard carries 5 seats and Advanced 10, plus showcases and marketing tools. Here, extra seats are a Vault feature at $175 a month each. If five people publish marketing video, Vimeo is built and priced for that.
Stay: small compressed files, far from the cap
A ten-minute 1080p file at Vimeo's own 20 Mbps upload guidance is about 1.5 GB; the Starter cap holds more than 1,300 of them. If that is your library, the lifetime total is a wall you will never meet.
Move: masters kept online for years
The Starter cap holds 100 of our 20 GB masters, ever, and a studio delivering four a month reaches it in about two years. If delivered work stays clickable and the library only grows, a meter that grows by the terabyte, with a cold rate for the back catalogue, beats a deletion schedule.
Move: plays you cannot predict
A festival month, a client's campaign, a reel that travels. On Vimeo those plays draw on a 2 TB monthly threshold and, twice in a year, a sales conversation. Here nothing but storage is metered.

Connect Vimeo once and the library appears; files move server to server, never through your connection, and nothing is re-encoded. Where your plan exposes originals through Vimeo’s API the importer pulls the file you uploaded; otherwise the largest file Vimeo serves, or the master you drop in. Does Vimeo limit how many videos I can upload?
Not on accounts created on or after 17 June 2024: the plans page says there are no limitations on the number of videos, only on storage, 2 TB on Starter, 4 TB on Standard, 7 TB on Advanced. Older accounts were metered by video count or weekly quota.
Does Vimeo's storage reset every year?
No. The help center is explicit: the total storage does not reset or renew. Deleting videos frees space; moving up a tier raises the cap.
Does uncompressed.io have unlimited uploads?
Uploads, views and viewers are unlimited on every plan; bandwidth is never metered. Storage is not unlimited and this site never says it is: each plan has a hot figure, Max and Vault add a cold pool, and blocks cost $40 per TB hot and $20 per TB cold a month.
Is bandwidth metered on either side?
On Vimeo, yes: 2 TB a month on every self-serve tier, and after two overages in twelve months, or 10 TB once, a conversation with seven days to respond. Here, no: the Terms state that storage is the only meter and there are no bandwidth caps.
