Inventory before moving
List films and existing embeds
List the films, portfolio pages and website embeds you need. Keep local masters and separately preserve any review notes or approvals you still need.
Check available source files
Confirm which files Vimeo still retains and makes available to your account. An unavailable original cannot be recovered merely by changing a plan.
Import one film first
Connect the right account
Connect the Vimeo account that owns the film. Check destination storage and choose one representative film.
Confirm the file you are importing
Read the file label in the importer: an original source and a Vimeo-encoded rendition are different assets. Import availability depends on the source account and file access.
Verify before redirecting your audience
Test the imported film
Open the imported film and check picture, sound, duration and seeking. Configure privacy, branding and download access.
Replace and verify your links
Replace website embeds and shared URLs you control. Existing Vimeo URLs, comments, settings and analytics should not be assumed to transfer automatically.
Complete the move
Move the remaining films
Repeat only after the first film works. Keep a checklist of verified films and replaced embeds.
