A short delivery checklist for editors: export, playback, privacy, review and the final handover.

Export for the recipient
Keep a master and prepare an export
Keep your editing master. For broad web compatibility, start with H.264 video and AAC audio in an MP4. Match the intended dimensions and frame rate; inspect the export locally.
Test a demanding section
There is no bitrate that guarantees playback on every connection. Test a short demanding section on the recipient’s likely device. For Premiere or Resolve, use the export guidance linked below.
Test the complete path
Open the client’s share link
Upload a short test, wait for the library save to finish, then open the share link outside your signed-in session.
Check picture, sound and casting
Check playback, sound and seeking. Test AirPlay or a TV separately if that is part of delivery; local phone playback does not establish receiver compatibility.
Set access and review expectations
Choose access permissions
Choose privacy and download settings before sharing. For protected Vault review, arrange the compatible macOS app with the recipient.
Agree on the review workflow
Tell the client where to leave timecoded notes and which version needs approval. Test one note and reply before using it for a deadline.
Close the handover
Verify the approved deliverable
Check the approved version and the final download if enabled. Keep your own backup.
Check replacement versions
If you replace a cut, verify that the existing link opens the new intended version and that the client understands the change.
Include the decision record in the handover
A delivery folder should make it clear which file was approved and which files are alternate formats. Keep a record of requested changes, the completed work descriptions and any unresolved exceptions. Avoid labeling every export final when the client approved only one of them.
Open the delivery link outside your signed-in session and test the intended file on a representative client device. Keep an independent copy of the deliverables and the project record; neither an online link nor a playback cache is a complete backup plan.
