hvc1 tag (Premiere and Final Cut write this correctly)Why not ProRes? Browsers can't decode it — keep ProRes 422 HQ as the master in your own archive and upload this instead. At 100–150 Mbps for 4K that's 5–7× the bitrate Vimeo's 4K delivery tops out at, and it plays everywhere. Compatibility alternative: H.264 High profile, 8-bit, at the same bitrates — only if a client is stuck on very old hardware; you lose the 10-bit gradients.
