Archive a finished edit from your editor
Project archives send a finished edit from DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro straight into your cold archive: every clip used on the timeline as a whole file, the project file and the finished master, one pack per timeline.
What to do
- Copy your API key from the dashboard’s Settings page. The scripts read it from a one-line file named .uncompressed in your home folder: the line starts with api_key, then an equals sign, then the key, nothing else. The Premiere panel asks for the key on its first screen when it opens; change key under MARKERS replaces it later.
- Get the free tool for your editor from the Project archives page in the dashboard. DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro use a Python 3 script (macOS offers to install Python on the first python3 command; Resolve users on Windows install Python 3 themselves). Premiere Pro uses the Uncompressed panel, version 1.1 or newer, installed with the free ZXP/UXP Installer.
- Send the pack. Resolve: with the project and timeline open, run python3 uncompressed-resolve-archive.py in Terminal (External scripting set to Local in Preferences, System, General), or copy the script into Resolve’s Fusion, Scripts, Utility folder and run it from Workspace, Scripts. Premiere: Window, Extensions, Uncompressed, then the ARCHIVE tab: Scan sequence, choose or skip the master, Send to cold archive. Final Cut: select the project, File, Export XML, then run python3 uncompressed-fcp-archive.py "My Film.fcpxmld" in Terminal; with no path a file chooser opens.
- Open Project archives in the dashboard when the run finishes. Each file of the pack is its own item: Download straight from the archive, Re-hydrate into hot space to play, review or share by link, Back to cold, or Delete this pack.
What to expect
The pack lands in your cold archive without passing through hot storage. Nothing is trimmed, re-encoded or renamed, the folder structure relative to the clips’ common folder is kept, and an interrupted run resumes from the last part that made it when you run it again; finished files are skipped.
Keep in mind
Project archives need a paid plan; Starter has no cold pool. Cold pools: Lite 100 GB, Pro 500 GB, Max 2 TB, Studio 7 TB; extra cold storage costs $20 per TB per month. The whole pack is checked against your free cold space before anything uploads. Only media on the timeline is included, not media that sits in the bin; proxies and optimized media are ignored. Re-hydration is limited to twice your archive capacity per month. The Premiere panel does not expand numbered stills into image sequences. Files are never bundled into a zip, and clients do not get links straight from cold: share after re-hydration, or download the file and send it yourself.

If a run stops or a file is listed as skipped, send support the editor, the tool version, the visible error and the pack name. Keep the footage itself and private links out of public channels.
