Storage & billing
Understand hot storage, cold archive and storage alerts
Hot storage is ready-to-play capacity. Cold storage is archive capacity; archived films need to be restored before review.
What to do
- Check the library’s Hot and Cold view and the usage of each storage pool.
- Keep actively shared films in hot storage. Before archiving, consider anyone who still needs to view them.
- For an archived film, use the available re-hydration action and check its status before promising playback.
- At an 80% or 95% storage alert, review what you still need and whether your next upload fits.
What to expect
You manage each storage pool separately and leave space for the next project.
Keep in mind
Cold capacity does not automatically become hot capacity. Restore timing and applicable limits should be checked in the account; do not promise an instant restore.
Still need help?
