Portfolio pages
Video portfolio website
without Vimeo branding.
Two things get confused in every answer to this question. Hiding the Vimeo logo is one feature at one tier. Uploading your own logo is a different feature at a higher tier. Here is what each route actually gives you, what Vimeo Portfolios does well, and the one row where we lose outright.
Video hosting for filmmakers · 5 GB free · Paid plans from USD 9/month

The distinction nobody makes
Taking their logo off and putting yours on
are two different features.
Almost every answer to this question online treats unbranding as one switch you buy once. On Vimeo it is two, and they sit at different tiers. Getting this right is the difference between paying for the plan that does what you want and paying for the one that half does it.
Starter
Hides the Vimeo logo
The vimeo_logo player parameter defaults to true, and Vimeo documents it as requiring a Starter plan or higher. The controls parameter, which hides the whole play bar and sharing buttons, carries the same requirement.
Standard
Adds your own logo
Uploading and displaying a custom logo is documented as requiring a Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium, or Enterprise plan. Starter can remove Vimeo's mark. It cannot put yours in its place.
Free
Neither
Free and Basic embeds can change player size, embed privacy, and playback settings such as autoplay, mute and loop. That is the whole list. The logo stays.
There is a third thing worth separating out. Vimeo’s Starter plan lists the ability to remove the Vimeo watermark from videos made in the Vimeo editor. That is a watermark burned into a rendered video, not the logo drawn by the player over any video you upload. Copy that quotes the editor watermark as proof that Starter gives you an unbranded player is describing a different thing.
Colours are a fourth. Vimeo’s player colour customisation covers four elements: primary colour, accent colour, icons and text colour, and background colour, entered as hex codes or RGB values. Vimeo’s own comparison table is worth reading before you buy, because those colours apply to the private or unlisted video page and to the embed, but not to the public video page. The custom logo and the Vimeo logo control apply to all three surfaces.
Credit where it is due
Vimeo has an answer to this exact question,
and it is a real product.
If you searched for a portfolio site without Vimeo branding, Vimeo sells one. It is called Portfolios, and its help centre describes it as customizable websites for showing your videos to viewers, which can be built without any Vimeo branding. Any page that implies Vimeo cannot do this is not worth reading.
What Portfolios gives you
A hosted site rather than a page on someone else's profile: themes, colours, background images, headers and CSS. Vimeo documents the feature as requiring a Vimeo Standard or higher, or a Vimeo Pro or higher membership, and states plainly that it can be built without any Vimeo branding.
The custom domain
This is the part most people are really buying. Vimeo's Portfolios article words it as: as a Vimeo Pro member or higher, you are welcome to use a custom domain for your Portfolios. Read that carefully against the plans currently sold, which are Starter, Standard and Advanced. Pro is a legacy name that still appears in current help articles.
Showcases are not the same thing
A showcase is a playlist of videos, free plans get three and paid plans get unlimited. Hosting a showcase on your own site is a separate feature documented as requiring Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium, or Enterprise, set up with a CNAME, and Vimeo warns it may take up to 72 hours to take effect.
What you give up either way
Every upload is re-encoded into several formats. Vimeo's own compression guidance asks for 30 to 60 Mbps at 4K on the way in, and its playback guidance lists a maximum delivered video bitrate of 22 Mbps at 4K, with the qualifier that a video could transcode lower depending on image complexity.
Prices are deliberately absent from this page
Surface by surface
A portfolio has four surfaces:
the page, the player, the embed, the address.
Unbranded is not one property. A page can be free of a platform logo and still hand the platform your address bar. The table below is the whole question broken into the parts that are actually gated.

Vimeo figures are quoted from Vimeo's own help centre, fetched 7 September 2026, and are listed in the sources below. No Vimeo price appears on this page because Vimeo's pricing page did not render prices to our fetch tool today. Vimeo's playback guidance states its bitrates are a maximum and that a video could transcode at a lower bitrate depending on the complexity of the image. On uncompressed.io the storage that differs by plan is 5 GB free, 100 GB on Lite, 500 GB on Pro and 1.5 TB hot on Max.
What the page is here
A username, a subdomain,
four layout tags, no platform mark.
The portfolio here is not a separate product you upgrade into. It is the account. Pick a username at signup and the page exists at that address, on the free plan, with nothing of ours drawn on it.
Pick a username
A username is required at signup and it becomes your address: uncompressed.io/yourname, mirrored at yourname.uncompressed.io, which is provisioned for you automatically. There is no publish switch and no opt-in flag. A visitor needs no account and no login to view the page.
Upload, then place
Every upload arrives tagged Hidden, so nothing goes public by accident. A film appears once you set its visibility to public and give it a layout tag. Two deliberate steps, in that order.
Tag the layout
Hero renders full width. Featured renders two side by side, and a lone Featured film sits centred at half width. Standard renders three across. Hidden keeps a film off the page. Drag rows in the Public Profile tab to set the order and the page assembles itself from the tags.
Dress it
Upload your logo, set your colours, and switch on the autoplay hero if you want the top film to play silently as the page comes into view. All of it is on the free plan. None of it is behind a tier.
The branding claim is worth stating precisely, because precision is the point of this page. There is no entitlement check anywhere in the branding path: the settings that dress your player verify that you are signed in and nothing else, and the file that governs plan limits contains no branding entitlement at all. It governs storage, the free plan’s one-film-at-a-time cap, and caption allowances. That is a different arrangement from a two tier gate, and it is the honest headline of this page.
The logo overlay is off until you switch it on, and it renders on the embed and on your film pages at yourname.uncompressed.io. The identifier-based address, uncompressed.io/v/ followed by the video id, is a fallback link and does not carry it. Nothing is drawn over the video except your own file: read the control bar and you find play, progress, captions, volume, AirPlay, cast, share and fullscreen, and nothing else. No advertising code, no recommendation query, no up-next rail, no end screen.
Where the colour claim stops
The honest limit
There is no custom domain here,
and on a page about owning your portfolio, that matters.
Someone searching for a portfolio website without platform branding often means the address bar as much as the player. We do not answer that. There is no code path that accepts, verifies or serves a domain you own, on any plan, and it is not sitting behind an upgrade or a waiting list.
If the domain is the requirement
Use Vimeo Portfolios. Its help centre documents a custom domain for Pro members and higher, and states the site can be built without any Vimeo branding. That is a straight answer to your question and you should take it.
If the site is the requirement
Build the portfolio on the site builder you already pay for, on your own domain, and put an unbranded embed inside it. The iframe carries no platform mark and the address bar stays yours. That combination costs you nothing here beyond the plan you needed for storage.
If the image is the requirement
Stay. The reason to host a reel here is that the viewer sees the file you exported rather than a re-encode of it. That is worth more on a director of photography reel than a domain is, and it is the one thing a re-encoding platform cannot give you at any tier.
The trade that comes with serving the exact file deserves the same plainness. There is no rendition ladder here, which means there is no lower quality for the player to fall back to. On a slow connection it buffers and waits. A platform that re-encodes every upload into several formats degrades instead, which is a better experience for a viewer on a train and a worse one for a colourist checking your grade. Pick the failure you would rather have.
The other trade is decoding. What plays in a browser is what that browser can decode. H.264, HEVC and AV1 stream. ProRes and DNxHR masters are stored and downloaded at full fidelity rather than played in a tab, so a portfolio page wants a browser-compatible export of the film, with the master kept for the client who asks for it.
How to choose
Write down which surface you actually care about,
then pick the shorter list.
If you want a site on your own domain with no platform mark, Vimeo Portfolios answers it at Standard or higher, with the custom domain worded for Pro members and higher, and you accept a re-encode with a documented 4K delivery ceiling of 22 Mbps in exchange.
If you want an unbranded page and an unbranded embed without paying for a tier to get there, and you can live on a subdomain of ours, this is cheaper and the picture is the one you exported. The free plan holds 5 GB and one film at a time, which is enough to put a single reel up and look at it on a phone before any money changes hands. Paid plans differ in storage and nothing else: the plans are here.
If you want both the domain and the untouched file, the combination is a site builder on your domain with our embed on the page. Nobody sells that as one product, including us, and saying so is more useful than pretending the question has a single winner.
Questions
Frequently asked
Can you build a video portfolio website without Vimeo branding?
Yes, by two different routes. Vimeo Portfolios is Vimeo's own answer: its help centre describes Portfolios as customizable websites that can be built without any Vimeo branding, and the feature is documented as requiring a Vimeo Standard or higher, or a Vimeo Pro or higher membership. The other route is a host that puts no mark on the page in the first place. On uncompressed.io there is no platform logo, badge or watermark on the portfolio page, the film pages or the embed, on any plan including the free one, because there is no entitlement check anywhere in the branding path.
Which Vimeo plan removes the Vimeo logo?
Two answers, and mixing them up is the most common mistake in copy about this. Hiding the Vimeo logo uses the vimeo_logo player parameter, which defaults to true and is documented as requiring a Starter plan or higher. Uploading and displaying your own logo is a separate feature documented as requiring a Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium, or Enterprise plan, so Starter can take Vimeo's mark off but cannot put yours on. Free and Basic embeds can change only player size, embed privacy and playback settings such as autoplay, mute and loop.
Does uncompressed.io put its own logo on my portfolio page or player?
No. The player draws no wordmark, badge or watermark, and the only image that can appear over the frame is a logo you uploaded yourself. Title, view count and share button ship off by default, as does the logo overlay, so a fresh embed is bare video and controls. One honest exception: if an embed points at a film that has been deleted, made private or password gated, the iframe shows a small unavailable card that carries our name. That is an error state, not playback.
Can I use my own domain?
Not here. Your pages live at uncompressed.io/yourname and yourname.uncompressed.io, and embeds are served from uncompressed.io. There is no code path that accepts or serves a domain you own, and it is not coming as a paid upgrade. If your own domain in the address bar is a hard requirement, use Vimeo Portfolios, whose help centre documents a custom domain for Pro members and higher, or build the site on a site builder you already pay for and put our embed on it.
Is my portfolio page live straight away?
The page exists from the moment you pick a username at signup. There is no publish switch and no opt-in flag. It starts empty on purpose: every upload arrives tagged Hidden, so a film appears only once you set it to public visibility and give it a layout tag of Hero, Featured or Standard. Visitors need no account and no login to view it.
Do visitors see ads, suggested videos or an end screen?
No. The embed page renders one element, the player, and the player renders the video, an optional logo, an optional title pill, an optional centre play button, captions and one control bar. There is no advertising code, no recommendation query, no up-next list and no end screen anywhere in it.
What is the trade against this?
Two things. There is no custom domain, which is the real limitation on a page about owning your portfolio. And because we store and serve the exact file you uploaded with no second, smaller version of it, the player buffers on a slow connection instead of dropping to a lower quality. Vimeo re-encodes every upload into several formats, which is the reason its player degrades gracefully where ours waits.
Put the page up and look at it before you pay anyone
A portfolio page exists from the moment you pick a username, on the free plan, with your logo and your colours and no platform mark anywhere on it. Storage is the only thing plans differ on. Look at the page on a phone, then decide.
