Embed a high-quality video on WordPress with Uncompressed

Upload a browser-compatible film to UC hot storage and set the intended visibility. Cold archive cannot serve an active website embed. Free holds 5 GB and one film at a time; use a paid plan for a multi-film library.

On self-hosted WordPress, your role and site policy must allow iframe HTML. WordPress.com currently requires a paid plan with hosting features activated for iframe tags. If saving strips the code, check those restrictions before changing the video file.

1. Open the film in UC and choose Copy embed code in its embed controls. Keep the HTTPS /embed/ address generated for that film.
2. Edit your WordPress page, add a Custom HTML block and paste the iframe. Do not use a Code block: that displays the code as text.
3. Preview the block and save or update the page. Open the actual published page in a signed-out browser; an editor preview alone does not prove visitors can watch.
4. Check a narrow phone layout and desktop. Keep the iframe within the content width and match its aspect ratio to your layout.
5. Test playback, audio, full screen, captions if present, and the player’s privacy and download behavior. Keep the old embed until these checks pass.

This is a template, not a working video. Replace YOUR_VIDEO_ID with your film’s ID, or use the complete code copied from your dashboard. Change 16/9 if your layout needs a different aspect ratio.

Lazy loading suits a player farther down the page. For a prominent hero, test its loading behavior and avoid autoplay with sound: browsers often block it. A high-bitrate original also needs a capable device and a fast enough connection.

Code disappears after saving: check WordPress permissions, hosting features and HTML filtering. Blank or blocked player: check the browser console for a site security policy that blocks the frame, and confirm the film is available in hot storage. Works for you only: recheck visibility and password settings signed out. Buffering: test a compatible lower-bitrate export and compare another device or network.

After changing the page, purge relevant CMS/CDN caches and inspect the published HTML again. Do not remove access restrictions just to make a confidential film visible.
