Improve a slow upload
Upload speed depends on your connection’s upload capacity, Wi-Fi, other traffic and the route to the service. Download speed is a different measurement.
What to do
- Keep the upload tab open and prevent the computer from sleeping.
- Use a stable wired connection if available, or move closer to your Wi-Fi access point.
- Pause other large transfers or cloud backups you control.
- Record the upload speed shown, file size, browser and approximate time. Compare with your connection’s measured upload capacity.
What to expect
A stable connection and less competing traffic can improve sustained transfer speed.
Keep in mind
These steps do not guarantee a particular speed. Changing a file extension does not reduce its size or change its codec. Do not disable security software to troubleshoot.
