Leak Shield and piracy protection

Anti-piracy for paid memberships.
When a member leaks, the membership ends.

A membership library is the easiest kind of video to leak: one member has access to everything, every month, and new episodes keep arriving. Anti-piracy for memberships is less about locks and more about consequences that members know about: a mark in every member's copy, a search for leaks, and a cancelled membership when one is confirmed.

Short answer

How do you protect a paid video membership from piracy?

Give each member an individually marked copy of every video, tell members that leaks are traceable, and search for copies on a schedule. When a leak is confirmed, cancel that member's membership, block the account and send a takedown notice. On uncompressed.io, Leak Shield does all of this for membership libraries. Protection reduces risk and makes leaks traceable; it cannot guarantee a film never leaks or that every leak can be traced.

  • Each member gets their own invisibly marked copy
  • Members are told copies are traceable
  • Leak search: weekly first month, then monthly
  • You review and confirm each sighting
  • Confirmed leaker: membership cancelled, account blocked
  • Leak Shield: USD 99 a month or USD 1,188 a year, any paid plan

Why memberships leak

The membership problem
more than single sales

Access to everything

A single purchase exposes one film. A membership exposes the whole library, and every new release, to every member.

Repeat leaks

A member who leaks once keeps receiving new episodes. Removing copies without closing the account means the next one leaks too.

One account, many viewers

A shared login looks like one member. Without a mark, nothing connects a leaked copy to the account that shared it.

Setting it up

Five steps
for a membership library

1

Write it in the terms

State that sharing access or copies ends the membership without notice. A consequence only deters if it is written down.

2

Tell members

Say on the membership page that every member's copy is individually marked. Most sharing stops at that sentence.

3

Turn on Leak Shield

Each member gets their own invisibly marked copy of every video in the tiers they belong to.

4

Review sightings

Leak Shield reports what it finds. You confirm or dismiss each one; nothing happens to a member on a match alone.

5

Act on confirmation

The member is identified and blocked, the membership is cancelled, a takedown notice is sent and a PDF case file is kept.

Memberships on uncompressed.io have monthly and yearly tiers that each open whole collections, with free trials, coupons and gift memberships. Members pay into your own payment account, with 0% commission. See the members-only video library guide for the setup, and DMCA takedowns for what a notice contains.

Fairness

Act on evidence
protects you too

A mark shows whose account a copy came from, not who held the camera. Treat it as strong evidence about the account, and act on the account.

Review every sighting before confirming it. Keep the PDF case file. If a member disputes it, the file shows what was found, where and when. Under US law, knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing in a takedown notice carries liability (17 U.S.C. 512(f), read 12 October 2026), so only confirm copies you are sure are yours.

When another option is better: if your membership is mainly community, posts and chat with occasional video, a community platform may suit you better than a video library, and leak protection matters less.

The limit

Protection reduces risk and makes leaks traceable; it cannot guarantee a film never leaks or that every leak can be traced.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I stop members sharing my paid videos?

Give every member their own invisibly marked copy, tell members that copies are traceable, search for leaks, and cancel and block the account behind a confirmed leak. Locks alone do not work, because members are allowed to watch everything.

What happens to a member who leaks on uncompressed.io?

When Leak Shield finds a copy and you confirm it, the member behind that copy is identified and blocked, their membership is cancelled, a takedown notice is sent and a PDF case file is kept.

Can I stop members sharing their login?

Not completely. A shared login still shows up as one account, and a per-member mark ties any leaked copy to that account. Membership terms that forbid sharing, and a known consequence, do most of the work.

Does anti-piracy protection work for course videos?

The same approach works for any library of paid video: masterclasses, tutorials, series or archives. uncompressed.io is a video platform, not a course platform, so it has no quizzes or lessons; it protects the videos themselves.

Should I refund a member who leaked?

That is your call and your terms. Refunds and free access are managed from your earnings page; uncompressed.io never holds the money and cannot refund on your behalf.

Can anti-piracy guarantee my membership content never leaks?

No. Protection reduces risk and makes leaks traceable; it cannot guarantee a film never leaks or that every leak can be traced.
