Alternatives
MemberPress alternative for video.
Memberships with the video hosting built in.
MemberPress is a popular membership plugin for WordPress. It handles access rules, payments and courses well, but it is not a video host: your films live somewhere else, on a service you pay and manage separately. If your membership is mostly video, one platform that hosts, streams and sells may be simpler.

Short answer
What is a good MemberPress alternative for a video membership?
A membership platform that hosts the video itself. MemberPress is a WordPress plugin, so a video membership built on it also needs WordPress hosting and a separate video host. uncompressed.io combines hosting, streaming and memberships, takes 0% commission, and needs nothing installed.
- Video hosting and memberships in one place
- No WordPress site, plugins or updates
- Monthly and yearly tiers, trials, coupons, gifts
- 0% commission, paid into your own account
- Films stream as exported, with no re-encode
- Optional Leak Shield, USD 99 a month or USD 1,188 a year
How MemberPress works
A plugin, not a host
and where the video lives
MemberPress describes itself as "The All-In-One Membership Plugin for WordPress". It adds paywalls, membership levels, payments and an online course builder to a WordPress site you already run.
WordPress hosting
Runs the site, the theme and the plugins. You keep it updated and backed up.
MemberPress
Membership levels, access rules, checkout, and courses. Billed yearly.
A video host
Stores and streams the files. Embeds must be locked to your domain, or a shared link bypasses the paywall.

Questions
Frequently asked
What is a good MemberPress alternative for video creators?
A membership platform that also hosts and streams the video. uncompressed.io stores films as exported, runs monthly and yearly membership tiers, rentals and purchases from your own shop, and takes 0% commission, with no WordPress site or plugins to maintain. MemberPress stays the better tool if you already run WordPress and sell mostly text, downloads or courses.
Does MemberPress host videos?
Its home page and pricing page, read 12 October 2026, do not mention video hosting. MemberPress protects content on your WordPress site; the video files themselves are usually uploaded to a separate video host and embedded.
How much does MemberPress cost?
MemberPress lists yearly plans: Launch USD 199.50, Growth USD 349.50 and Scale USD 499.50 for the first year at introductory pricing, renewing at the full USD 399, 699 and 999. WordPress hosting and a video host are extra.
Can I use uncompressed.io with my WordPress site?
Yes. Keep WordPress for your blog and point a menu link to your shop at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand, or put the shop on your own domain or subdomain. Members sign in with the email they bought with; they need no WordPress account.
Does uncompressed.io have courses like MemberPress?
No. There are no lessons, quizzes or course progress tracking. It sells films, series, bundles and memberships that open collections of video. If you need a course builder, MemberPress or a course platform fits better.
Does uncompressed.io take a cut of memberships?
No. 0% commission at any volume. Every charge is made on your own payment account; your card processor charges its fee.

Hosting, a shop and memberships come with every paid plan (Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month), with no commission and nothing to install. Start free with 5 GB.
