Wipster is a mature review tool, and for a good share of the people searching for an alternative it is still the right answer. Here is where it is ahead, from its own pages.
You live in Adobe or Final Cut
Wipster lists one extension that shares from the timeline in Premiere Pro and After Effects, and a Final Cut Pro integration that syncs feedback into the app. The editing tools here cover DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, not After Effects, and the review itself happens in a browser tab.
Your team runs on Slack
Slack is on Wipster's integrations page, and its pricing page lists an API. If review activity has to reach a Slack channel, Wipster is the tool that lists it.
You need multi-step sign-off or enterprise controls
Wipster describes multi-step approvals with an audit trail and side-by-side comparison of any two versions. Its Enterprise plan lists SSO, disabling file downloads, security audits, an SLA and a dedicated success manager. The approval here is one red or green decision per version.

Wipster has a flat Light plan and a per-user Team plan. Plans here are flat, with a set number of seats included and clients who never count as seats. The table uses each company’s own figures.

For one editor the comparison is simple. Wipster Light gives you 50GB for $11.95 billed monthly. Lite here is $9 a month for 100 GB you can stream plus 100 GB of archive. Wipster’s pricing page puts closed captions, custom branding and team-only comments on Team rather than Light; caption generation here is on every plan, metered in minutes a month.
For a team the answer turns on headcount. Wipster Team scales per user with no cap. Here, Max includes 2 seats and Studio includes 5, with more at $15 a seat a month. If you have many internal people who all need to be inside the tool, count them against both models before you move anything. Pro at $39 a month includes 1 seat and 1 TB of storage in total.

Share with named clients
Each client gets their own share link, and the link is their key. They never need an account and never use a seat. You can also restrict a film to one reviewer's email address.
Notes at a time, with a drawing
A note is stored at the playhead time in seconds. A reviewer can draw on the picture and the drawing is saved with the note. Replies thread one level deep, and each note records the round it belongs to.
Red or green, per version
The reviewer marks a version approved or requests changes, and the decision is stored against that version with their name when one was given. A new note on the version revokes its approval.
Notes into your timeline
A free script puts each note on your DaVinci Resolve timeline as a marker at the note's timecode, red for open and green for done, and refreshes in place. A Premiere Pro panel does the same job on the Adobe side.
You can mark each note done as you work, and the room hides the notes you have finished. Versions stack inside one room with the first upload as V1, and each aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) keeps its own versions. When a client asks for a fix after sign-off, replacing the file keeps the link, the notes and the approvals on the film.
Captions generated for a film can be searched from the room, and clicking a match jumps to that line. The review and approval guide covers what to test in any tool before you commit a client to it.

Browser playback uses your uploaded export without another platform re-encode. Codec, device and connection requirements still apply.
We do not build a smaller copy or a quality ladder. The file that plays in the room is the file you exported, at the data rate you exported it. That is useful when the note you are waiting for is about the grade or the texture of the picture, because the client reacts to your file rather than to a copy of it.
It has a cost. With one rendition, a slow connection buffers instead of dropping to a lower quality, and a codec the viewer’s browser cannot decode will not play. For a review round, export to H.264 or HEVC at the data rate you want seen. Supported camera originals and Vault playback use the compatible macOS app; they are not universally playable in web browsers. Unlimited video streaming is included, with no per-view or bandwidth overage charges. Storage and team-seat charges are separate.

Frequently asked
Do Wipster reviewers need an account?
No. Wipster's help centre says reviewers do not need their own account or login, and are invited by share email or URL. The same is true here: the share link is the key, and a reviewer never uses a seat. Free outside reviewers are the norm in this category, so they are not a reason to switch in either direction.
Is Wipster priced in US dollars?
Wipster's pricing page shows its prices with a dollar sign and does not name the currency, so this page quotes them exactly as written: Light at $9.95 a month billed annually or $11.95 billed monthly, and Team at $19.95 per user a month billed annually or $25 billed monthly. Check the currency at checkout. Plans here are priced in US dollars.
Does Wipster work with DaVinci Resolve?
Wipster's integrations page and pricing page, read on 16 September 2026, list Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Slack and the Wipster API. Neither page lists a DaVinci Resolve integration. Here, a free script pulls the room's notes into a Resolve timeline as markers.
What happens to an approval if the client sends another note?
The approval comes off. Approval is stored against one version, with the reviewer's name when one was given, and a new note on that version revokes it. That keeps the record honest: a green light that survives a fresh round of changes is not a record of anything.
Can I replace a cut without sending a new link?
Yes. Replacing a film's file keeps the same link, and the timecoded notes and approvals already on the film stay attached to it. The old playable file is deleted once the new one is committed.
