Wipster vs Frame.io.
Clients review free on both. The bill is where they differ.
Both companies say outside reviewers need no account, so that question is settled before you start. What separates them is what each one charges for the people inside your account, how many of those people a plan allows, and how storage is attached. Here are both price sheets side by side, the case for each, and a short third option for shops whose clients mostly just watch.

The question that is already answered
Outside reviewers are free
on both platforms.
A lot of comparisons still lead with “does my client need an account”. Neither company says they do. Wipster’s help centre says reviewers don’t need their own account or login, and its pricing page lists unlimited reviewers. Frame.io says its share links don’t require outside reviewers to sign up or log in, and asks a guest for a name and email address on the first comment.
So the decision is not about your clients. It is about the people inside your account: editors, producers, account managers, anyone who uploads, organises or runs a review. That is what both companies bill, and they bill it differently.

What the people inside cost

Wipster Light is priced as a flat plan; its pricing page does not state it as a per-user price. Storage differs a lot between these lines: see the table above before comparing on price alone.
Two things stand out. For small teams, Frame.io’s per-member list price is lower and each member brings storage with it, so a three-person Pro account costs less than three Wipster Team users and holds far more footage. At six people, Frame.io’s Pro cap forces the move to Team and the monthly bills meet at $150. From there, Wipster’s uncapped Team plan keeps scaling one user at a time, while Frame.io sends anyone past 15 members to a sales conversation.

When to pick each,
and when to pick the other.
Pick Frame.io if
You have two to five people who need real storage, since each member on Pro adds 2TB. Or you are one or two people whose work fits in 2GB, where the Free plan costs nothing. Or you want passphrase shares, link expiry and branded shares, which Frame.io lists from Pro.
Pick Wipster if
You cut in Final Cut Pro and want feedback synced into Final Cut Pro, or you share from Premiere Pro and After Effects through one extension and live in Slack. Or you are a single user who needs only 50GB, where Light is the cheapest paid line on this page. Or your team is past 15 people and you want a published per-user price instead of an Enterprise quote.
Check before you commit to Wipster
If you grade or finish in DaVinci Resolve or Avid: neither is listed on its integrations or pricing page. Its homepage advertises multi-step approvals with an audit trail but does not say which plan includes them, so ask before you buy for that feature.
Check before you commit to Frame.io
The annual price: the page shows only "Save 13%". And storage add-ons: they exist, but no price is published. If you expect to outgrow the per-member storage, get that number first.
A third option, briefly
If your reviewers only watch,
the per-user question mostly goes away.
Some shops do not need a collaboration suite. One editor uploads, the client watches the cut and says yes or asks for changes. For that shape of work, uncompressed.io’s review room is on every plan, including the free one (5 GB, one film at a time). Clients open a share link, never take a seat, and can leave notes stored at a timecode, with drawings, and approve or request changes per version. Plans are flat-priced, not per reviewer: Lite is $9 a month or $90 a year with 100 GB hot and 100 GB archive, and includes 1 seat; extra seats are $15 per seat a month. Notes can come back into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro as a marker at the note’s timecode with the free marker tools.
Browser playback uses your uploaded export without another platform re-encode. Codec, device and connection requirements still apply.

Do my clients need a Wipster or Frame.io account to leave notes?
No, on either. Wipster's help centre says reviewers don't need their own account or login, and they are invited by share email or link. Frame.io's pricing page says its share links don't require outside reviewers to sign up or log in; its help article adds that a commenter who is not logged in is asked for a name and email address on the first comment, and cannot edit those comments after leaving the session.
Which one is cheaper for a solo editor?
If 2GB and two projects are enough, Frame.io Free costs nothing and allows up to 2 members. Past that, Wipster Light is a flat $9.95 a month billed annually ($11.95 monthly) with 50GB, and Frame.io Pro lists $15 per member per month with 2TB of storage. Light is the cheaper line; Pro carries far more storage.
Does Frame.io publish an annual price?
Not as a dollar figure. On 16 September 2026 its pricing page showed only "Save 13%" for annual billing, with no annual per-member price. Check the checkout before you budget on it.
What happens when my team outgrows a plan?
On Frame.io, Pro stops at 5 members and Team at 15; beyond that is Enterprise, with custom members and storage and no published price. Wipster's Team plan lists no seat cap, so the bill grows by one user price per person instead of forcing a plan change.
Does Wipster work with DaVinci Resolve?
Its integrations and pricing pages list Final Cut Pro (feedback syncs into Final Cut Pro), a Premiere Pro and After Effects extension, Slack and the Wipster API. Neither page listed a DaVinci Resolve or Avid integration when we checked on 16 September 2026.

The review room is on every plan, including the free plan: 5 GB, one film at a time. Clients open a link and never take a seat. Paid plans start at $9 a month.
