Your own streaming service

Branded streaming app for TV and phone.
Your name on Apple TV, iPhone, Fire TV, Samsung and LG.

A branded streaming app puts your films on the living-room screen under your own name and icon, instead of inside someone else's app. This guide covers which stores matter, whose developer account the app should live under, what the stores themselves charge, and what review really involves.

Short answer

How do I get a branded streaming app on Apple TV, Fire TV, Samsung and LG?

Use a streaming platform that builds the apps for you and submits them under your own developer accounts, so the listings belong to you. uncompressed.io builds branded apps for Apple TV, iPhone, Fire TV, Samsung and LG as part of its streaming platform; the stores' own developer fees apply, and each store reviews the app before it goes live.

  • Apps for Apple TV, iPhone, Fire TV, Samsung and LG
  • Built and submitted under your own developer accounts
  • Apple developer program: USD 99 a year (Apple's fee)
  • Amazon Appstore registration: free, per Amazon
  • Each store reviews the app; no approval date is guaranteed
  • 0% commission on sales made through your shop

Samsung and LG

each runs its own seller program; read its terms when you register

Samsung's and LG's seller portals did not show fee terms to an automated read on 12 October 2026, so no figure is given for them here. Check each portal when you open the account. Stores may also take a share of purchases made inside an app under their own rules; read each store's current terms for in-app sales before deciding how buyers will pay.

Ownership

Whose account the app lives in
and why it matters later

Under your own developer account

The listing, the ratings, the install base and the name in the store are yours. If you move to another platform one day, the app does not vanish with the vendor. This is how uncompressed.io builds and submits apps.

Under the vendor's account

Quicker to start, because you skip the store sign-up, but the store relationship belongs to the vendor. Ask any provider in writing what happens to the app if you leave.

What the stores ask of you

Store accounts are opened in the name of a person or a company, with identity checks, tax and banking forms. Only you can complete them, which is why they come first in the plan below.

The plan

From web shop to TV
without promising a date

1

Open the web shop first

Films, prices and memberships live at your own address. This is what the apps show, and it earns while the apps are in review.

2

Open your store accounts

Apple, Amazon, Samsung and LG, in your name or your company's. Identity and tax steps can take days.

3

Give access and assets

Grant build access to your accounts, and supply the icon, artwork, description and privacy details each store asks for.

4

Submit and answer review

Each store reviews the app. If a reviewer asks for a change, it is made and resubmitted. Announce the apps once they are live, not before.

Store review is the store's decision, on the store's schedule. Any provider that guarantees a launch date for a TV app is guessing. Plan your premiere around the web shop, which you control, and treat the TV apps as the second wave.

Who this is not for: if your viewers mainly watch short videos on phones, a TV app adds little. Put the effort into the web shop and your mailing list first.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a branded streaming app?

A branded streaming app is an app in the Apple, Amazon, Samsung or LG store that carries your name, icon and catalogue, so viewers install your service rather than a general video app. Behind it, the films, purchases and memberships come from your streaming platform.

How much does it cost to put an app on Apple TV?

Apple's developer program costs USD 99 per membership year, or the local equivalent, according to Apple's own page read 12 October 2026. Eligible nonprofits, accredited educational institutions and government entities can request a fee waiver. On uncompressed.io the app itself is built for you; the developer program fee is Apple's.

Why should the app be under my own developer account?

Because the store listing, the reviews and the installed base then belong to you. If you ever change platforms, the app and its listing stay in your account rather than in a vendor's.

How long does app store approval take?

No one outside the store can promise a date. Each store reviews every app and every update against its own guidelines, may ask for changes, and can reject a submission. Plan your launch around the films being live on the web first, with the apps following.

Which TV platforms does uncompressed.io build apps for?

Apple TV, iPhone, Fire TV, Samsung and LG. Each app is built and submitted under your own developer accounts.

Do I need a TV app to run a streaming service?

No. Many viewers watch in a browser, on a phone, or by casting from a laptop. A TV app matters most when your audience watches long films at home, and it adds credibility, but a web shop on your own domain is the place to start.

Put your films on the TV under your own name.

Branded apps come with the streaming platform on every paid plan (Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month), with 0% commission on what you sell. The stores' own developer fees apply.
