Memberships
Subscription revenue for creators.
What you keep, platform by platform.
Every subscription platform takes its share in a different shape: a percentage, a fee per member, a flat plan, or a mix. The shape decides how much you keep as you grow. This page puts the published rates side by side at three sizes of membership, using only figures each platform states on its own pages.

Short answer
How much of their subscription revenue do creators keep?
Between 70% and 100% of what members pay, before card processing, depending on the platform. - Patreon: 90% after its 10% fee

- Vimeo OTT: minus USD 1 per subscriber a month
- uncompressed.io: 100%, plus a flat plan
- Card processing applies on every platform

Rates from each platform's own page, read 12 October 2026: Patreon 10% of income earned; YouTube pays creators 70% of net revenues from channel memberships (applied here to what members pay, so it is an upper bound); Uscreen USD 1.99 (Growth) and USD 0.99 (App Essentials) per subscriber; Vimeo OTT USD 1 per subscriber a month. Card processing is excluded everywhere.
Plan prices are what you subtract next. Uscreen lists Growth at USD 199 and USD 149 a month and App Essentials at USD 499 and USD 449, with annual billing saving up to 20%. Vimeo's help page does not list the Vimeo OTT plan price. uncompressed.io plans are Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month, chosen by storage and by how many hours members watch (Lite 1,000, Pro 5,000, Max 15,000, Studio 25,000 viewing hours a month).
At 2,000 members the gap is clearest: a percentage or per-member fee takes between USD 1,980 and USD 6,000 a month, while a flat plan costs the same as it did at 100 members, apart from extra viewing blocks if members watch beyond the allowance.
The fee shapes
Four ways to take a share
and when each one costs you most
A percentage (Patreon, YouTube)
Costs the same share at every price and every size. Fair when you are small; the most expensive model once you are large.
A fee per member (Uscreen, Vimeo OTT)
A fixed amount per subscriber. Light on a high-priced membership, heavy on a low-priced one: USD 1 is 10% of a USD 10 membership and 33% of a USD 3 one.
A plan plus fees (Uscreen)
A monthly plan and a per-member fee and a share of one-time sales. Three numbers to watch instead of one.
A flat plan (uncompressed.io)
A fixed monthly price by storage and viewing, 0% on sales, nothing per member. It costs more than a percentage only when your revenue is very small.

| Member tools | Free trials per tier, coupon codes, gift memberships, refunds and free access from your earnings page. |
| Your storefront | A shop under your name at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand, or on your own domain. Buyers need no account. |
| Picture quality | Films stream as you exported them: no re-encode of video or audio, with an optional lighter copy for slow connections. |
| Viewing hours included | Lite 1,000, Pro 5,000, Max 15,000, Studio 25,000 hours a month, then USD 29 per extra 20,000-hour block. Playback never pauses. |
| Plans | Starter free (5 GB, one film at a time); Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month; yearly is one month free. |
| Leak Shield (optional) | Every buyer gets their own invisibly marked copy; the open web and torrent indexes are searched; a confirmed leak names and blocks the buyer and sends the takedown. USD 99 a month or USD 1,188 a year, any paid plan. |
| Inclusion window | The streaming platform is included with every paid plan for members who switch it on before 31 December 2026, and stays included for them afterwards; after that date new activations add USD 39 a month. |

Questions
Frequently asked
How much of subscription revenue does a creator keep?
It depends on the platform's fee shape. On USD 1,000 a month from 100 members, a creator keeps USD 900 on Patreon before processing, about USD 700 from YouTube memberships, USD 801 on Uscreen Growth before its plan, USD 900 on Vimeo OTT before merchant fees and its plan, and the full USD 1,000 on uncompressed.io before card processing and its flat plan.
Which platform takes the smallest cut of memberships?
A platform with no percentage and no per-member fee. uncompressed.io takes 0% and charges a flat plan. Among the percentage and per-member models, Patreon's 10% and Vimeo OTT's USD 1 per subscriber come out level at a USD 10 price; at lower prices the per-member fee is the larger share.
How much does YouTube take from channel memberships?
YouTube pays creators 70% of net revenues from channel memberships, according to its partner earnings overview, so the platform keeps 30%.
Is a per-subscriber fee better than a percentage?
It is better when your price is high and worse when it is low. USD 1.99 per subscriber is about 20% of a USD 10 membership but 4% of a USD 50 one. A percentage costs the same share at every price.
Are card processing fees included in these numbers?
No. Every platform has card processing in some form, so it is left out to keep the comparison like for like. Patreon lists processing, currency conversion and payout fees; Vimeo OTT lists merchant fees of 2.5% plus 30 cents; on uncompressed.io your own payment account charges its fee.
When is a percentage platform the better deal?
When you are small and a flat plan costs more than the percentage would, or when the platform brings you members through its own discovery. At USD 100 a month, Patreon's 10% is USD 10, about what a small flat plan costs.
Keep every membership dollar, less your card fee.
uncompressed.io charges 0% commission and nothing per member. You pay a flat plan (Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month) and members pay into your own payment account.
