10% platform fee on the income you earn on Patreon from patreon.com/pricing, read 12 October 2026. Payment processing, currency conversion and payout fees and applicable taxes come on top; their rates are not listed on that page and are left out here.

The other three fees depend on how your members pay and how you are paid out. A member paying in a different currency from yours adds currency conversion; the payout method you choose sets the payout fee. Your creator dashboard shows the exact amount deducted from each payment, and that is the number to use when you compare platforms.

Deciding

Is 10% worth it for you?
by what your members pay for

Patreon is worth it if

Your membership is mostly posts, audio, polls or community, you rely on Patreon's app to find new members, or you want sales tax handled for you.

A flat plan is worth it if

Your members pay mainly to watch films, episodes or lessons, your income is past a few hundred dollars a month, and you want the money in your own account on every charge.

Questions

Frequently asked

How much does Patreon take from creators?

Patreon's pricing page states a 10% of the income you earn on Patreon, plus payment processing, currency conversion and payout fees, and applicable taxes.

How much does Patreon take from USD 1,000?

The platform fee is USD 100, leaving USD 900 before payment processing, currency conversion and payout fees.

Does Patreon take a cut of taxes too?

No. Taxes are separate from the platform fee. Patreon's pricing page says it takes care of most applicable tax collection and remittance for creators, which is a real convenience for selling to members in many countries.

What are Patreon's payment processing fees?

Patreon's pricing page lists processing, currency conversion and payout fees without the rates; the detail is in Patreon's help center. Read your own creator dashboard for the exact amounts on your account.

Is there a video platform that takes no percentage?

Yes. uncompressed.io charges 0% commission on memberships, rentals and purchases at any volume. You pay a flat plan instead, and your own payment provider charges its card fee on each charge.

Is Patreon still worth 10%?

For many creators, yes: Patreon brings community features, posts of every kind, a members app and discovery inside its own network, and it handles most sales tax. If your members mainly pay to watch video, a flat-priced video platform usually costs less as you grow.
