Where can I host without another re-encode?
UC is an option when you want the uploaded export to be the file used by the ordinary player. Start with a compatible H.264 MP4 for broad browser support, or verify the exact HEVC profile and recipient devices before choosing it. Camera RAW and protected Vault playback have separate app requirements.
Use the published same-frame comparison as one example, then run the procedure below with a film you own. If viewers need an adaptive lower-quality stream on a weak connection, that requirement may favor another host or a smaller review export.

Browser playback uses your uploaded export without another platform re-encode. Codec, device and connection requirements still apply.
A high bitrate is not a universal quality score. Codec, source complexity, bit depth, encoder settings and the viewer’s display all affect the result. The same bitrate in two different codecs is not necessarily equivalent.
A lower-bitrate adaptive rendition can be useful on a slow connection. For original-file playback, choose a compatible export that your recipient can sustain, and keep your own backup.

Record your source
Save the codec, profile, dimensions, frame rate, average bitrate, file size and SHA-256 checksum before upload.
Identify the playback asset
An original download link can be different from the video used by the player. Identify the actual delivered file or rendition before comparing.
Compare like with like
Use the same frame, resolution and display scaling. Record the selected rendition, browser, device and date. Keep color management consistent.
State what the result establishes
Matching SHA-256 hashes establish identical files. Different hashes alone do not prove quality loss: container metadata or remuxing can change bytes without re-encoding the video.

Does cold archive preserve a playable website video?
Cold archive stores a file but does not serve it for playback or embedding. Restore it into available hot capacity before sending viewers to it.
Does no re-encoding mean the video is uncompressed?
No. H.264, HEVC and AV1 exports commonly use lossy compression. No additional re-encode means the host preserves the uploaded file instead of creating another delivery encode. It is a claim about the delivery path, not every possible codec or streaming service.
