Alternatives
Wix Video alternative.
A film library that is not tied to your website plan.
Wix Video lets a Wix site show video, sell rentals and purchases, and put channels behind a subscription. It works well inside Wix. The catch for filmmakers is that the video library shares storage with the site plan, and the films live wherever the website lives.
Video hosting for filmmakers · 5 GB free · Paid plans from USD 9/month

Short answer
What is a good Wix Video alternative for filmmakers?
A dedicated video platform linked from your Wix site. Wix Video can rent, sell and put channels behind subscriptions, but the films share storage with the website plan, from 2 GB on Light to unlimited on Business Elite. uncompressed.io gives the films their own storage, streams them as exported and sells them with 0% commission.

- 0% commission, paid into your own account
- Films stream as exported, with no re-encode
- Shop on your own domain or subdomain
- Optional Leak Shield, USD 99 a month or USD 1,188 a year

When Wix Video is enough
An honest fit
Who should move the films
and who should stay
Move the films if
Your library is growing past what the site plan stores, you sell films or memberships as your main income, you want trials, coupons and gifts, or you care how a graded film looks on a TV.
Stay on Wix Video if
Video is a small part of a business website, you sell little per view, and the convenience of one platform matters more than picture quality or member tools.

Questions
Frequently asked
What is Wix Video?
Wix Video is the video feature of the Wix website builder. Wix's help center describes listing videos for rent or purchase, tying channels to pricing plans so they are sold as subscriptions, and restricting whole channels to paying subscribers.
How much video storage does Wix give you?
Wix's plans page, read 12 October 2026, lists site storage of 2 GB on Light, 50 GB on Core, 100 GB on Business and unlimited on Business Elite. It does not list separate video hours. Wix's help center says storage increases when you upgrade your site.
How much does Wix cost?
Wix states that prices and currency vary by location, so check wix.com/plans from your own country. This page does not quote a Wix price for that reason.
What is the best Wix Video alternative for filmmakers?
A video platform with its own shop that you link from the Wix site. uncompressed.io stores and streams films as exported, sells purchases, rentals and monthly or yearly memberships with 0% commission, and runs on its own address or your subdomain.
Can I keep my Wix website and use uncompressed.io?
Yes. Keep Wix for the website and add a Watch link to your shop at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand or a subdomain such as watch.yourdomain.com. Buyers need no account; they sign in with the email they bought with.
When is Wix Video the better choice?
When the site is a small business or portfolio with a few videos, you want one bill and one editor, and the films are not the main thing you sell.
Give the films their own home.
Hosting, a shop and memberships come with every paid plan (Lite USD 9, Pro USD 39, Max USD 99, Studio USD 219 a month), with no commission. Start free with 5 GB.
