What it involves
Four parts to any pay-per-view setup.
Checkout
Someone takes the card payment. Either the platform collects and pays you out later, or the charge is made on your own payment account.
Access control
Only buyers get the film. Anything that leaks the full file to non-buyers, a public embed or a preview that is really the whole film, defeats the point.
Delivery
Streaming, a download, or both, on whatever device the buyer has.

Who holds the money, when it reaches your bank, and who can refund.

At 10 sales of a $10 film, Gumroad costs $15 and our $39 add-on is the worse deal. Be honest with your numbers.
How it works here

You connect your own payment account; each charge is made on it and pays out to your bank on its schedule. We never hold the money and take 0%. Per film you set a streaming price, a download price, or both, from $1. An optional free preview is a separate cut whose length you pick, so a non-buyer never receives the full film. Buyers need no account: they pay, get a receipt email, and open the film from the receipt link on any device. A refund from your account removes access at once.
The film sits on a shop page at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand and is locked everywhere else: portfolio, embed and share link. The file streams as exported, with no re-encode, connection and device permitting. The add-on includes 20,000 viewing hours a month, and earnings show by day, month, film and top buyer.

Frequently asked
Is pay-per-view the same as a rental?
Not always. Some platforms sell access that expires. uncompressed.io does not sell expiring rentals: a buyer keeps access through their receipt link unless you refund the sale.
Can I sell live pay-per-view events?
Not here. Vimeo OTT lists live pay-per-view on its Enterprise plan, priced through sales.
