The first three dates have passed: nothing new can be sold on Vimeo On Demand and the last payout has gone out. What is left is the stretch until 20 November, during which your buyers can still watch what they bought and can still be told where your films live next. After that date their purchases end and are not carried anywhere. The exact dates and what each one changes are on when does Vimeo On Demand shut down.

Vimeo OTT Starter, the replacement Vimeo names

Per help.vimeo.com (read 28 September 2026): USD 1 per subscriber per month plus 2.5 percent + 0.30 merchant fees on subscriptions, 10 percent + 0.50 per buy or rent with the merchant fee included, and upload blocks of USD 99 / 149 / 199 for 10 / 25 / 50 hours, purchased as needed.

A Vimeo On Demand page did five jobs at once. Any replacement has to do all five, or the seller does the missing one by hand.

Why it matters

Buyers came to a page with your name and your films on it. The next shop should read as yours too, or the trust starts over.

Your shop lives at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand, apart from your portfolio, with poster, length, description and the free preview if you cut one.

Your ownpayment account

Vimeo collected the money and paid it out on its schedule; the final payouts ran on 24 September 2026. A store that holds your money can also stop paying it out.

You connect your own payment account. Each charge is made on it, settles in your balance and pays out to your bank on your provider's schedule. We never hold it.

No commissionon any sale

Vimeo OTT Starter takes 10 percent + 0.50 per buy or rent (help.vimeo.com, read 28 September 2026). A percentage grows with every sale you make.

A flat USD 39 a month, or USD 429 a year, and no commission at any volume: you keep 100% of the sale, paid into your own payment account. Your provider's card processing fees still apply.

Buyerswithout accounts

Vimeo On Demand buyers watched from a purchases page on their Vimeo account. Asking them to create a new account somewhere else loses some of them.

They pay, get a receipt by email, and the film opens from the receipt link on any device. Their email address is their whole identity with us.

Prior buyerskept

Vimeo does not transfer purchases (vimeo.com/ondemand/shutdown, read 28 September 2026). Its seller FAQ lets you export the viewers who opted in to your updates.

Paste or upload that list under the film in your On Demand dashboard. Every address gets a free access link by email, no account, up to 2,000 addresses per film per day, and nothing is charged to you or to them.

A few hours later for a large library, your films are here with their titles, posters and descriptions; original files come over only when Vimeo exposes them. Prior buyers are re-granted from the list you exported, under the film in the same dashboard. Nothing is charged for any of it.

Yearly

Pro USD 429 a year or Max USD 1,089 a year, plus On Demand USD 429 a year. Yearly is one month free, on the plan and on the add-on.

Monthly

Any plan from USD 9 a month (Pro USD 39, Max USD 99), plus On Demand USD 39 a month. Nothing else to pay for the move.

Anyone running a subscription channel, a catalogue with a free trial, live pay-per-view, or apps on TVs and phones. Vimeo OTT sells those; we do not. Pick us for selling individual films at the quality you exported, to buyers who need no account, with money that lands in your own account.

Is uncompressed.io On Demand a replacement for Vimeo On Demand?

For selling single films to stream or download, yes: a shop under your name, a streaming price and a download price per film, a free preview if you want one, and buyers who need no account. It does not sell subscriptions, rentals that expire or TV apps for buyers. If your Vimeo On Demand page ran a subscription series, Vimeo OTT or a similar subscription platform is the closer fit.

Do my Vimeo On Demand buyers move over?
