The films live in your hosting plan’s storage like any other upload. The free plan holds 5 GB and one film at a time; Lite holds 100 GB ready to play for USD 9 a month and Pro 250 GB for USD 39. The add-on is its own line on the bill, so you can cancel it without touching your films.
How it works
From payment account
to the first sale.
Once the add-on is active the dashboard walks you through four steps, one at a time. The first two are ticked by your payment provider, not by you, so a shop cannot open half connected.
Add On Demand to your plan
The add-on is its own line on your bill, USD 39 a month or USD 429 a year. It works on any plan, free included.
Connect your own payment account
You sign in to, or create, an account with the payment provider we work with. It is yours: your login, your dashboard, your money. We never see your balance.
Add your bank details
The provider asks for your bank account and identity. Until that is done it can accept payments but holds payouts, so finish it before you sell.
Price a film
Every upload appears as a card. Set a streaming price, a download price, or both, from USD 1. Cut a free preview if you want one, then press Publish.
Share your shop
Your shop lives at yourname.uncompressed.io/on-demand, apart from your portfolio. Put the link in your bio, your newsletter and your emails.
First sale
A buyer pays on your account, gets a receipt with a link, and the film opens from it. The sale shows in your earnings by day, month, film and top buyers.

Minimum USD 1
The floor is USD 1 per film per format, so a sale never costs more to run than it earns.
Streaming and download are priced separately
A streaming purchase opens the film in the browser from the receipt link and does not time out. A download is the file you uploaded, as a plain copy; it is usually the higher price because it is the film for good.
The preview is a separate cut
Choose a length in seconds and the preview is cut as its own short file. The shop shows that file to everyone; the full film's address is never on the shop page and is never sent to a non-buyer.
A film on sale is locked everywhere else
Portfolio, embeds and share links stop playing a title the moment it goes on sale. Only buyers get it.
Films play as you exported them, with no additional video or audio re-encode, so the bitrate you choose at export is the bitrate the buyer streams. Playback depends on codec, device and connection; the export ranges on the export settings page are a safe place to start. Price against what your audience already pays for similar work, test one price for a few weeks, and never judge it on a single day of sales.
What is not offered

A download is a plain copy of your file. Price and licence it accordingly. If your model needs a subscription channel, rentals that expire, coupons or apps on TVs, a subscription video platform is the right tool and this one is not.
Tax and payout
The sale is yours,
so both are your own account's business.
Every charge is made on your own payment account. That is what makes no commission possible, and it is also what makes tax and payout yours to handle. Payouts follow your provider’s schedule and appear in its dashboard, because the money is there, not here. Sales tax and VAT are the seller’s responsibility: registering, collecting and filing are done by you, as for any sale you make directly. Refunds are issued from your own account, and a refund removes the buyer’s access at once.
What we keep for you is the record: who bought what, when, for how much, and the viewing hours used against the 20,000 included each month. If you are bringing buyers from a store that closed, the Prior buyers tool under each film takes the list you exported and gives every address the film at no charge, up to 2,000 addresses per film per day, with the same receipt-style email a buyer here receives.

Is it really no commission?
No platform percentage, at any volume. It is not zero cost: the add-on is USD 39 a month or USD 429 a year, the films live in your plan's storage, and your own payment provider charges its card processing fee on each sale, which we neither set nor see.
Who holds the money and who refunds?
You do, on both counts. Each charge is made on your own payment account, settles in your balance and pays out to your bank on your provider's schedule. uncompressed.io never holds the money and cannot refund a sale; you refund from your own account, and a refund removes the buyer's access at once.
Who handles sales tax or VAT?
You do. The sale is yours, made on your account, so tax registration, collection and filing are the seller's business, as they would be for any sale you make directly. We do not calculate or collect tax on your behalf.
Does a buyer need an account?
No. A buyer gives an email address at checkout, receives a receipt with a link, and the film opens from that link on any device with a browser. The email address is their whole identity with us; there is no password.
Can I sell the film and still show it on my portfolio?
Not the full film. Once a title is on sale it is locked everywhere else: portfolio, embeds and share links no longer play it, and only buyers get it. What you can show is the free preview, a separate cut whose length you choose.
What if I sell only a few copies a year?
Then a percentage store is cheaper than a monthly fee, and you should use one. For scale: Vimeo OTT Starter takes 10 percent + 0.50 per buy (help.vimeo.com, read 28 September 2026), so at USD 12 a film the USD 39 add-on costs less than that fee only from about 23 sales a month.
