The math
When a flat fee beats a percentage.
On single sales only, 10% of a $10 film is $1. The $39 add-on costs the same as 39 such sales a month.
Below about 39 sales a month at $10, OTT Starter’s percentage costs less than our flat fee, and someone selling a few copies a year should not pay $39 a month for it. Above that, the flat fee wins and the gap grows with volume: 200 sales of a $10 film is $200 to OTT Starter against $39 here. At a $20 price, the crossover is about 20 sales a month. Card processing fees from your payment provider apply on top in both cases.
Uscreen is the other subscription option: Starter is $49 a month with 10% of one-time sales and a 100-subscriber limit; mobile apps start on App Essentials at $449 a month.

How much does Vimeo OTT cost?
Vimeo OTT's pricing page, read 25 September 2026, lists Starter at $1 per subscriber per month with 10% of one-time purchases, web only, with subscriptions, transactions and free trials. Enterprise, which adds TV and mobile apps, advertising, live pay-per-view and DRM, is priced through sales and has no public number.
Is Vimeo OTT the replacement for Vimeo On Demand?
It is the product Vimeo points creators to on its shutdown page. Vimeo On Demand blocked new purchases on 21 September 2026 and shuts down fully on 20 November 2026.
Does uncompressed.io do subscriptions or TV apps?
No. On Demand sells single films for streaming, download, or both. There are no subscriptions, memberships, rentals that expire, or TV apps for buyers. If your model is a monthly channel, Vimeo OTT or Uscreen fits better.
