If you sell ten copies a month, a percentage model is cheaper: Vimeo OTT Starter costs $10 and Gumroad $15, against $39 plus about $6 of card fees on a flat add-on. Someone who sells a few copies a year should not pay any monthly fee at all.
At 100 sales a month the order flips. Uncompressed On Demand is $39 plus about $59 of card fees, $98 in total, against $100 on Vimeo OTT before any processing and $150 on Gumroad. At 1,000 sales the flat fee is $39 plus about $590 of card fees against $1,000 to $1,500 on the percentage models, and Podia Shaker at $84 is close behind if you also want courses.

Is there a free Vimeo On Demand alternative?
Gumroad has no monthly fee; it takes 10% plus $0.50 on each direct sale and 30% on sales through its Discover marketplace. Vimeo OTT Starter has no fixed fee for one-time purchases either, and takes 10% of each. Free to start is not free per sale.
Where is the break-even between a percentage and a flat fee?
For a $10 film, $39 a month equals Gumroad's fee at 26 sales and Vimeo OTT Starter's 10% at 39 sales, counting platform fees only. Card processing on your own account, about 2.9% plus 30 cents per card sale as Sellfy and Podia quote it, moves the break-even with Gumroad to roughly 43 sales a month.
Do I pay card processing on top of the flat fee?
Yes. With a flat-fee shop the charge runs on your own payment account, so your provider's card fees apply. Sellfy and Podia say the same on their pricing pages. Gumroad's pricing page lists its fee without a separate processing line.
